The maples are showing off now. This morning’s walk turned into a small tour of the season — red, gold, and copper spreading branch by branch, while a few trees still hold onto their green.

Every tree seems to change at its own pace. Some go all in overnight; others let go one leaf at a time, as if reluctant to say goodbye to summer.
Watching it happen, I thought of the Thiruvasagam’s quiet teaching — that change, accepted gracefully, is its own kind of beauty. The trees don’t resist their season.
